Welcome to Going Loco Models, Model Railways and Hobby Centre situated in Outwood, Wakefield, where you can find all the latest, available models from Hornby, Bachmann & Farish etc. As well as our extensive range of pre-owned locos, and rolling stock. Why not view our range of, scenics, buildings, accessories, packs, sets and Track, all in 00 & N gauge also available in O and G scale.
We also stock DCC Ready & Fitted digital locos, as well as the decoders needed for the conversion, if you wish to make the switch. Not forgetting DCC sound locos, controllers etc. We also stock Airfix models Tamiya model and other plastic kits.
We work closely with our suppliers, Hornby, Bachmann, Graham Farish, Peco, Metcalfe, Woodland Scenic, Gaugemaster, and more. This allows us to ensure high quality to all our products. A feat that we carry over to our quality pre-owed selection.
Our pre-owned section is mostly made up from stock we have bought from collectors nationwide, we are always on the lookout for those special rare items which we then sell right here!

Bachmann
Bachmann are one of the largest and most popular companies within the model railway world. Known for their main range of products Bachmann Branchline.
Branchline models are designed to be a consistent size that is known as OO scale. These models in steam or diesel are large enough to incorporate a high level of detail as well as many additional features such as directional lighting, sound effects and digital control.
Bachmann also manufacture all kinds of accessories from train controllers to a different variety of wheels & buffers, also including different types of bogies & couplings. Not forgetting the highly popular Scenecraft buildings range in N, OO & O gauge. Scenecraft also includes a good selection of miniature figures such as station staff and track-side workers as well as street scene items like bollards and dustbins. Scenecraft can bring your layout to life!
Graham Farish
Graham Farish is ‘the’ N Gauge Range by Bachman. N Gauge models are scaled in 1:148 with a Gauge (the distance between wheels) of 9mm, or 0.354 inch. This is opposed to OO Gauge models that are scaled in 1:76, with a gauge of 16.5mm.
The benefit of N Gauge is that it allows a high level of modelling into a smaller area.
With a wide range of locomotives, coaches and trucks (commonly known as rolling stock). Not forgetting a large range of sets and starter packs, accessories, figures, scenics & Scenecraft buildings. Graham Farish has everything you need to build and enjoy your N Gauge layout.
Woodland Scenic
Woodland scenics is a scenic range from Bachmann, that supplies you with everything you need to detail your layout. The woodland scenics range includes many different ballasts, scatters, flock and lichen as well as tree kits, glues, scenic cement, ready rocks, and rock moulds the list is endless.
Woodland scenics produce the popular sub terrain system. This can be used to create inclines on your layout, perfect to create a mountainous layout.
Hornby
Hornby have been supplying Model Railways to the World for decades,
Mallard, Flying Scotsman & Tornado are just three World iconic OO gauge Locomotives made by Hornby, not only do they produce steam locomotives but also a large range of diesel/electric locomotives for any Model Railway Layout or Display Cabinet.
Hornby manufacture lots of complimentary accessories, such as platform, signals as well as miniature figures including cows and sheep.
Hornby’s large history and longevity have made it a house hold mane to all model rail enthusiasts around the world!
Peco
Peco is another big player in the model railway world, manufacturing products for all gauges and scales.
Including OO gauge, O gauge, and N gauge, as well as G Scale and Z gauge amongst others.
Peco primary products are its track ranges, Peco Set-track and Streamline. Peco Set-track is the more standard type of track similar to the type of track supplied in train sets. This consists of four different radius rigid curves, straights, crossings and standard points.
Peco Streamline is aimed at the more experienced modeller, who wants to create unique track plans consisting of long flexible track pieces cut to suit, as well as incorporating a wider variety of points and crossings, at different radii and available in either insulfrog or elecrofrog.
Aside from track Peco also provide accessories such as rail joiners, track fixing pins, buffer stops, point motors and switches, etc.
not forgetting their popular publications including the very popular Railway Modeller.
Peco also produce Ratio, Wills, and modelscene.
